We’re more than just a place to live, we’re a community. We look after one another around here. And that’s why we’re here- to cater to your individual wants and needs, so you have more time for the things that matter most.
We’re local Iowans caring for local Iowans. Our Iowa based organization understands the needs of our customers. Unlike all of the surrounding homes and long-term care management providers, we have always been based in Des Moines and Ankeny with deep Iowa roots and believe our life-long, local experience provides a greater understanding of what it is that we expect from those who provide care to those we love and cherish. That’s what sets us apart.
The Suites of Ankeny is more than a place to call home… it’s a peace of mind. When dreaming of Suites of Ankeny, our owners thought of a place they’d feel happy sending their parents to live. A place to maintain their independence with the the peace-of-mind to know they were taken care of.

Life at the Suites of Ankeny has just the right balance of privacy and support. That’s why we created a tiered living model with one goal in mind: to support residents at exactly the level they need today… giving each person a confident foundation for long-term independence.
You can rest assured, as needs evolve, care adapts — seamlessly, compassionately, and without disruption.
We understand that peace of mind is paramount. That’s why our compassionate team is available around the clock to provide personalized support and assistance.

As part of this we see our role as being really important to provide for our residents safety, and we take that responsibility very seriously. For example, when we built the Suites of Ankeny we invested more than $500,000 in our backup generator system and purchased one that far exceeded regulations of the State of Iowa. We did this in case we experience an extended power outage – our residents are assured to be safe and their families have the confidence to know that we are caring for them. Although you won’t see it on the tour, it’s an example of how we go above and beyond in our concern for our residents and their families who want the peace of mind knowing they’re well cared for.
Another example of this is our resident council. A group of residents meet monthly to talk about our community and what things we can do to make it an even better place to be. We take their guidance and add it to make their experience what they’re looking for in a home (OK – we do reserve the right to veto an occasional request – Herb once suggested we go on an all-inclusive trip to Australia, but that wasn’t in the budget!).
One request we received from a resident was the idea for a happy hour. Even though they don’t work anymore, they still thought it would be great to have happy hour on Friday – Done! We made it happen.
